Oh, Hi! Five on Friday!!

Oh, hello July, and a summer that is equal parts awesome and busy and fun and exhausting and KICKING MY BUTT and going by so fast!

I'm way overdue on my post all about our trip to Canada (which was amazing), and I promise to get that up asap because I want to document it before I forget any little detail!  For now, though, all you get is a short, 5 on Friday post...

So, one reason I've been so slack in blogging is because a certain little guy is taking all of my energy!  Y'all, E is all boy.  And while I truly love every second of it, I need a crash course in how to be a mama of a boy!  His most recent shenanigans include taking off his diaper during nap time, and also playing with the contents of his diaper when my back is turned.  SOS.  But also?  His vocabulary continues to explode, he is hilarious and adorable and sneaky and smart, asks me questions all day long, and says, "Watch, mommy!" constantly to show me any and everything he's proud of. <3

And as for my CK, she is loving summertime but already tells me she can't wait to go back to school!  Which makes my mama heart sad, because she'll be in five days, all day this year - but it also makes my mama heart happy, because the little girls loves her some preschool.  She's doing a few camps here and there this summer, and this week kicked off her first one - Art Camp!  She was so excited, and I was so proud when I dropped her off in a new setting, with all new teachers and kids she's never seen before, and she didn't flinch.  The week ended with a little art reception to show off her masterpieces, and I'd say her first ever summer camp was a success!

And as for our first baby - or fur baby, Bailey... poor girl has been struggling lately.  She's a miniature dachshund who is twelve-and-a-half, and just recently her health took a weird turn.  We're thinking we may know what's going on, but have had a heck of a time getting results from a diagnostic test... as in, the lab messed up the results, TWICE, and the vet office has been completely negligent in communicating with us about what's going on.  We're getting pretty frustrated (and increasingly worried!) about our girl, and are on a mission to figure out what the heck is going as soon as possible.

Well, the time has come - the time to put away my running shoes and trade them for walking shoes for the rest of this pregnancy.  I really was hoping to run 'til the end this time, but it's just gotten so uncomfortable to run that I had to give it up.  Which I hate, because I'm feeling so MOOSE-LIKE already and would love to continue running.  But, I'll have to settle for walking now, which I've been doing earrrrly in the morning before the house wakes up because omg it's the hottest summer ever and - like I said - I'm massive already.

And speaking of being a moose, I think it has finally hit T and me that WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!  You see, since this was supposed to be pretty much impossible, I think we've been in a state of shock since I first took that pregnancy test in January.  Like, it was too good to be true, and were we really gonna have another baby?!  And here we are, about two months to go (and with my induction already scheduled at the hospital!), and we're like - holy $*@!, WE'RE HAVING A BABY!  Which means we've finally, finally started to plan and try to make some progress on getting this house ready for kiddo #3.  And let me tell you, we have a loooong way to go.  I'm trying not to stress, but I cannot believe we'll be a party of five in about two months!  I am thrilled and worried and anxious and terrified and excited and so, so thankful.  I still want to pinch myself that here I am in the third trimester with this sweet, sweet baby...

Glad to have reappeared back around these parts...now hopefully I can get back into my blogging rhythm!  TGIF!!
