The Friday Five

Happy, happy, HAPPY Friday!

O N E
A mama dream came true last weekend when CK attended cheerleading camp!!  For those of you who don't know, I cheered in middle/high school... like competitive, serious, I-have-a-state-championship-ring-cheerleading.  And I would love for my girl to follow in those footsteps.  Our local high school (which has a great cheer program!) did a one-day cheer camp last Saturday, and you'd better believe I signed CK up as fast as I could.  And she loved it!  They did a little performance at the end and my mama heart was just so, so happy.

And speaking of CK, she is just loving preschool you guys.  So much so that as soon as she gets home, all she wants to do is take E up to the playroom and "play school."  She acts out her entire day with E, and it is hilarious!  She makes him go to centers and small group and have rest time and story time and snack time and play time - and he even has a notebook where she puts down if he had a good day or not.  It is the cutest!

We just kicked off our next bible/book study at church and this time we're reading this book.  I'm really excited to explore this author - he seems different from any other I've ever read.  And I'm even more excited about the sacred time with those girls on Wednesdays.  Our conversations are just so awesome, and just what I need in this season of my life. <3

And speaking of those Wednesday nights, this past Wednesday a couple of the ladies in the group talked about how much they listen to worship music and how much it keeps them centered and connected.  So this week during my early morning neighborhood waddles walks, I listened to a little Hillsong United instead of Rhianna's "Work, work, work, work!"  And I have to say, it was such a great way to start my day.  I am so excited about using my morning exercise time to simultaneously start the day in an uplifting, spiritual, inspiring way.

Oooooooooh baby names!!  SOS.  So we were pretty much narrowed down to two names for each gender, and I was really excited about them!  And now we're not.  Now we're pretty much back to square one, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't stressed about the fact that I could go into labor at any minute and we're 100% unsure about what we're going to name this little one.  I feel like I have considered every single possible name that exists on the planet, with nothing T and I can agree on.  Help me Rhonda.

Have a great weekend!

Sayonara Summer!

Well, this post is a little delayed... probably because I've been in denial that summer is pretty much o-v-e-r for the Peele crew since CK is officially back in school!  And while we plan on trying to squeeze in a few more fun summer-ish activities before #3 makes his/her debut, I thought I'd do a quick picture recap to say sayonara to summer!  You were hot and hard and exhausting for this pregnant mama of two, but you were a blast and one we will certainly never forget!

Without further ado, this is how we spent the summer of 2016 ~

This little boy continued to steal our hearts and give us a run for our money:

We were lazy:

We spent time in the driveway, as long as it wasn't too hot!

 And had picnics!  Both outdoors:
 And indoors:
 And with donuts:

 We spent time at playgrounds:

And swimming lessons:

Which led to LOTS of trips to the pool, since CK is officially a little fish:

We took advantage of events at the local library:

And the kids spent a weekend with Grammy and PaPa:

While I ventured to SC to throw a baby shower for my stepsister and soak up some girl time with some of my favorite ladies:

CK and her daddy rocked their fruit/vegetable garden, once again:

We soaked in lots of time in the backyard and on the back deck:

And had the BEST week at Vacation Bible School:

A highlight of our summer was when T and I took an all-expense paid trip to Banff Springs in Alberta, Canada:

And lucky for these kiddos, Meme was in charge while we were gone!

We ate lots and lots (and lots!) of shaved ice in the back of the car:

And spent lots and lots (and lots!) of money at IKEA:

CK had a BLAST at her three camps this summer - art, gymnastics, and princess ballet:

We tried to get E's crazy, cow-licked hair under control:

And spent time with our cousins!

We had an absolute blast with our besties from NC:

And celebrated a patriotic 4th of July!

And braved the movie theater a few times:

 And made lots of messes!

 And worked on #3's room:

We had an awesome week at the beach with the BLOMPS crew:

And slept hard after playing hard:

I got lots of solo time with each kiddo in anticipation of becoming a party of five:

And sweet baby Peele was spoiled and showered by some pretty awesome ladies:

We took advantage of T's perks at work when it was just too hot outside to breathe:

And watched this little stud grow up way too quickly!

Bammy came to visit for a fun-filled weekend:

And we watched this belly grow, and grow, and grow!

It really was such a fun summer and I am so glad I can document it here... We were equal parts lazy and busy, spending lots of time with just our little crew and lots of time with our friends and family.  And now it's time to get into our new fall routine, which will (soon!) include sweet baby Peele! <3
