5 on Friday!

O N E
We got a new old car!  As I mentioned previously, we've been juggling one car in the Peele house while TJ scoured the internet for exactly what he wanted.  As frustrating as it would sometimes be to watch him search and research so thoroughly, I knew to trust him... he is incredibly smart about buying and selling cars.  We knew we wanted an older SUV that we could fix up ourselves, and we found just that.
When I pulled up into the driveway and saw it yesterday, I immediately fell in love.  I have such a soft spot for older SUVs and have always wanted a Land Cruiser!  It is in rough shape cosmetically, but runs GREAT.  We already have plans in the works to make it look good as new, and when T saw my eyes light up in the driveway yesterday, he said, "Ok ok... just let me get it cleaned up a little, I'll move the car seats over, and it can be yours."  Gotta love him!

I've been in kind of a groundhog-day-type-rut with my running lately... just bored with it.  I still loyally get up and run in the dark before the rest of the house stirs, but it's just been so uninspired lately.  Not sure if it's because I'm running the same old route or because I'm not actively trying to lose weight anymore, but I'm just blah about it.  I really wanted to find a way to shake up my exercise, but still needed something that I could do before the kids are up because it works so well for my schedule - and I absolutely love having my workout DONE first thing in the AM.  Enter Pure Barre.  Unless you live under a rock, you probably know this is all the rage right now.  My sister over at Doc Momma is a Pure Barre enthusiast, and her body is proof that the workouts are incredible.  Unfortunately, little old Carrollton doesn't have a Pure Barre studio - so I researched and researched and finally found a reputable at-home dvd.  I know it probably doesn't even compare to the in-studio workouts, but ohmyLord it was miserable in the best possible way.  I am still so, so sore and am hoping that by doing this in place of running a few mornings a week, I'll be more motivated in my runs and will also see more changes in this post-two-babies body!

Just when I got back into experiencing how wonderful it is to get a full night's sleep, E is waking up, again, all throughout the night.  Teeth?  Ear infection?  Sleep regression?  I have no clue.  But whew, I'm exhausted!  My FitBit tracks sleep patterns and I'd say this screen shot of my sleep lately is pretty indicative of how things are going around here in the wee hours of the night...

I will say that when he does need me in the middle of the night, I always, always soak up the snuggles.  During the day, he is non-stop, 90-miles-an-hour so I do enjoy an opportunity to wrap up his precious little tired body while rocking him.  And yes, the cliche - it won't be like this for long...

And while we're on the subject of Everette...his first birthday invitations are officially in the mail and I could cry.  I am so sad about my little buddy turning one!  I know everyone says this, but it has honestly been the quickest year of my entire life.  I know with all my heart that I have soaked in every second of his first year, especially since we fought like hell to get him here.  But I just want to freeze this moment in time, just for a little while.  Unfortunately, based on my infertility, he is likely our last baby, which just makes every little milestone so bittersweet.  But I am so proud to be his mama and no matter how sad I am, I cannot wait to celebrate his first year of life!!

And speaking of birthdays, tomorrow is Cameron Kate's fourth birthday party!  Her actual birthday was last Saturday, and we had the best day.  <3 Four of her friends in town all turn four in October, so after we all birthday-party-hopped every weekend of October last year, we decided to do a joint party this year!  We're expecting a pretty large turnout and are having a fall festival-themed event.  I can't wait to come back next week and share all of the details of CK's actual birthday and the fall festival partay.  So with that, I'm off to do some last minute prep and also prepare our house for all of the family coming into town!  Have a wonderful weekend!!

  1. I feel like birthday parties help soften the blow of our babies getting older. I love parties so it makes it fun while it's sad too.

And i would love to try pure barre too!!! But yeah, Joplin has no such thing. Bummer
