The other day I was cooking (and by cooking I mean putting a Stouffer's in the oven), when I heard the sweet, sing-songy voice of my daughter in her room...
"There's God!"
"There He is!"
"He's RIGHT HERE!"
"That's God!"
I peeked into the doorway and saw her wonky-pigtailed head buried in the pages of a children's book titled, "Do You See Me, God?" She was pointing to anything and everything in the book - the little kids, the animals, the parents, the sunshine - and she, with 100% certainty, was proclaiming that He was everything in the book... that He is everything and He is everywhere.
And in this tiny, heart-stopping moment I realized that while I have been struggling with finding God in the darkness, He's always been right here.
I won't lie and say that I don't still have questions, that I'm not still confused, that I'm not still struggling with understanding why we're having to walk this difficult road.
But it was my two-year-old who finally convinced me that He's RIGHT HERE.
She is wise beyond her years, that precious little one. Xoxo
