Summer So Far (it's halfway over, guys!!)

So we jumped into summer like WOAH and all of a sudden it's halfway over... like woah.
So before it gets too far away from me, I wanted to document what we've been up to since we skipped our way out of the school for a couple of months back in May...

CK kicked off summer with TWO trophies at our church's pinewood derby race event... a trophy for design, and a FIRST PLACE TROPHY (!!) for the fastest car of them all!  Wahoo!  Alllllll the credit goes to her and her dad, because I had nothing to do with it - other than cheering like a maniac mom from the sidelines.

We've been checking all sorts of fun things off of our summer bucket list, including a water balloon fight...
An Atlanta Braves baseball game...
Where we got to walk on the field before the game, thanks to Everette's tball team.  And check out this spontaneous and candid mid-spit photo.  Proud tball/boy mama moment!
We had an almost never-ending game night, with six board games played back-to-back.
We've actually been to TWO movies, including Toy Story 4, which I may have loved more than they did!
We had a donut picnic with the most delicious donuts ever ever ever:
We rode around (some of) the Greenbelt...
And had a silly string fight!
We've got several more fun things to squeeze in from our bucket list during the second half of summer, and I can't wait!

We have spent a ton of time at the pool (often with friends in tow), and it's the first summer in seven years that I can actually park myself in a chair for short spurts of time.  I forgot what it's like to sit and even kind of relax for a minute at a pool, y'all!

We've enjoyed plenty of summer treats... often times for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner!

We squeezed in a giggle-filled sleepover...

And I had a grownup night at a Hootie and the Blowfish Concert!  It.was.AWESOME!!

We rocked our way through one of our favorite weeks, Vacation Bible School, at our church:

And spent some much-needed time with our "twin family."

I had a life-changing experience at Woodland:

And I discovered a new obsession, BIKING!  And I have now ridden the 18-mile-ish Greenbelt loop (that surrounds the town of Carrollton) several times!!

I snuck some "me" things, like:
a pedicure thanks to a gift certificate (that was 8-months old... woops)...
a girls' night out...
and lots of time with my favorite guy. <3

We've also been finding all sorts of fun around the house/yard!  Slip 'n sliding, bubbles, tickling/wrestling matches, homemade obstacle courses, trying to teach E to ride his bike without training wheels, tons of skinned knees, races, soccer games, and shootin' hoops.

We've enjoyed some fun around the community, too, including a wild animal show featuring a famous snake who has been in alllll the tv shows and music videos!

I spent all my money at Target.

And then I spent what little I had left dealing with a sick cat, who has been quarantined for over a week now.

Cameron rocked horse camp for the second year in a row:

And while sis played cowgirl, my boys and I had some awesome time together, featuring my friend's annual tie-dye party!!

I also managed to snap a picture of my anti-girly girl painting her fingernails.  To which she said, "Mom, I hope you didn't just take a picture, and if you did, you'd better delete it immediately.  This is the only time in my life I will ever do this.  I'll never do it again, probably."  Yeah, we'll see... :)

But through all the fun, my most favorite parts have been squeezed inbetween the summer-fun-chaos.  So much reading, couch snuggling, tons of my famous marshmallow sweet-n-salty popcorn, way too many movies/Netflix shows, and just slowing down the pace a little...
It's hard to believe summer is already halfway over, and while it gives me anxiety thinking about getting back into the breakneck speed of my working<single>mama-teacher-life, I also feel like this summer is treating us pretty well.  So, I'm choosing to celebrate that we've had so much fun already and that we still have half of the summer to go!  Including the always anticipated BLOMPS beach week... which starts TOMORROW!!!  I cannot wait to soak up my trio in our favorite place surrounded by the most important people in our lives.  So, I'll be back in a week or so with plenty of beach photos #mamarazzi - but now? Ready, set, BLOMPS!!
